Thank you, Miss María

My mother teaches in an university; she is a physical educator, but before she studied that career, she was at a Translation school. She studied there for a couple of years but because of some economic reasons she decided to quit it. My mom however does not remember a lot of english words, so the relationship between English and my family it is both confusing and peculiar.

I remember I liked my primary english classes mostly because of my love for miss Maria. Oh that sweet lady! She was so kind and the atmosphere was always more breathable when she was in the classroom. I started to think in English as one of my favorite subject: I was excited about a new way to say things!

Now I have a more stable idea about English, I have a real opinion about its use. In this modern and globalized world people need to learn english in order to be considered as competent  within a wide range of professional contexts. But the main reason I feel attracted by it is because of the cinematographic pop-culture that I had been consuming my whole life, maybe is a nostalgic reason, or maybe it is just the system showing itself from my insides.
